Carpe Mañana was founded in Oaxaca in 2018 with a clear goal: find a meaningful, scalable use for the enormous volume of agave bagasse generated by the mezcal industry.

Since then, we have worked to transform agave bagasse into a standardized, internationally recognized natural fiber feedstock for manufacturing—and to build Carpe Mañana into the world’s leading provider of agave fiber.

Our work has been supported by a Mexican government grant and by Techstars, which selected Carpe Mañana for its 2024 program.

 

Our founding team is equally male and female and brings together Mexican and American perspectives, combining local knowledge of Oaxaca’s agave economy with experience across sustainability, manufacturing, hospitality, apparel, and product development.

Today, Carpe Mañana is helping define an entirely new category of material: Engineered Agave Fiber.
